The Senior Partnerships Manager will be responsible for business development and partnership management activities - from lead generation, through scientific proposal, to deal close and the subsequent technical liaison between Arctoris’ globally distributed biotech/pharmaceutical clients and the core scientific team at its Oxford Headquarters.

The role demands a depth of commercial understanding and evidenced sales abilities, as well as impeccable organisation and professional communication. The role is specialised towards biochemical-based drug discovery projects (Hit ID, Hit Validation, Hit-to-Lead, Lead Optimisation and Safety Assessment) and therefore fluency in screening, profiling and mechanistic/molecular pharmacology is strongly desirable.

The Senior Partnerships Manager will report to the Head of Partnership and will work closely with the CEO and CCO in the business development and strategy functions. As a small and innovative company, every opinion matters - the ideal candidate will be motivated to identify weaknesses or holes within any area they work in and actively and continuously improve them.

Responsibilities:

  • Research, identify and materialise new business and partnership opportunities

  • Initiate discussions with C-level leaders of drug discovery biotech companies

  • Be a key point of contact for the clients and the team, keeping up regular communication across ongoing projects and strategy

  • Partnership management from lead generation, through scientific proposal, to deal close and the subsequent technical liaison between Arctoris’ globally distributed biotech/pharmaceutical clients

  • Responsible for implementing effective sales plan and achieving the sales goals within the forecasted revenue

  • Manage the day to day business support functions for the wider commercial team

  • Attend conferences and events to build professional networks

Requirements:

  • Postgraduate degree in biological sciences with 1-2 years industry research experience, preferably in commercial, sales, customer-facing or strategic roles

  • Experience of successfully working in multidisciplinary teams, with excellent communication skills and the ability to interact at all levels

  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

  • Excellent at commercial negotiations and contract management

  • Experience in risk assessment requirements

  • Ability to work under pressure, manage different projects and deliver to strict deadlines

  • Evidence of problem-solving and creative thinking

Desirable:

  • Experience in B2B partnership or business development experiences, with the ability to navigate CRM

  • Experience of drug discovery and development, with particular emphasis on biochemistry and medicinal chemistry
