May 20th OBN BioTuesday - "How to dress for Pharma Acquisition" featuring SVLS and Atlas Venture

This event is kindly sponsored by MEPC Milton Park
May's BioTuesday addresses two key issues facing biotech and healthcare companies in a climate where pharma acquisition is now a frequent exit, firstly how to position a company for trade sale, and how to attract the investment you need to get to trade sale.
May's BioTuesday features Dr Hamish Cameron, who was CEO of "CAT" following its acquisition by AstraZeneca. "How to Dress for Pharma Acquisition" addresses the one of the key issues facing cash hungry biotechs, looking for pharma trade sale as an exit. The UK has seen a quickening pace of acquisition activity in the last few years, including the acquisition of Zeneus Pharma (Oxford) by Cephalon, and the acquisition of PowderMed (Oxford) by Pfizer, and there are even rumoured to be bids planned for larger biotech companies. This BioTuesday seeks to discuss and dissect the steps that a biotech company should take if it is to position itself as an acquisition target for pharmaceutical.
The May BioTuesday will feature another life sciences investment firm, Atlas Venture. Dr Hakan Goker of Atlas Venture will give the low down on "How to Dress for an Atlas Venture", following an afternoon spent meeting companies through OBN's VC Meeting Brokerage service.
