OBN BioTuesday: Beyond Borders 2010 - First UK Preview
This 25th May BioTuesday, taking place at the new venue of Conference Centre Oxford, will give delegates access to the first in-depth review of Ernst &Young’s annual thought-leading publication, Beyond Borders – Global Biotechnology Report 2010 to take place in the UK.
Key findings include that the industry weathered the economic turmoil delivering strong financial performance in 2009 and that the world's established biotech centres (US, Europe, Canada and Australia) reached profitability for the first time in history. Beyond Borders report that while revenues fell cost-cutting and efficiency savings increased profitability. Although capital raised rose by 42% in 2009, a significant part of this was raised by a handful of established public companies in follow-on offerings, and access to capital for emerging R&D companies remained scarce. The Beyond Borders report identifies five guiding principles for biotech companies operating in the new economic environment which will be discussed in details at the BioTuesday on May 25th. R&D companies will be given a free copy of the E&Y report on entry to the event (one per company).
