Our client based in home counties in the UK is recruiting for an Interim Logistics/Supply Chain Manager to support with the implementation of SAP for a period of 3-6 months.

The Logistics Specialist would sit within the Supply Chain and Logistics team and would be responsible for supporting the delivery of the Logistics business processes that will be delivered through the implementation of their SAP system.

This role requires a domain expert with logistics experience and expertise in global Pharmaceutical and/or FMCG networks using SAP. The role is focused on configuring both internal logistics capability, and extended logistics capability through interfaces with a range of Logistics Service Providers.  Whilst the general configuration of internal warehouses has been completed there is a need to review the configuration with the SAP System Integrator and ensure the needs of the business have been documented.

Role Purpose:

The successful incumbent will:

  • Provide expertise, advice and support for the Supply Chain and Logistics business lead and will help to oversee testing, handover and training of the business in use of the new system which is acknowledged as being performed by others
  • Be accountable for a thorough review of the internal warehouses (Raw Materials, and Finished Goods)
  • Be accountable for ensuring that the Supply Chain and Logistics team is fully appraised of progress by the IT-led development of Sedge SAP-3PL WMS interfaces 
  • Review and refine existing strategies in conjunction with the business in order to make pragmatic but intelligent design decisions for the Logistics processes within SAP and associated systems
  • Be accountable for considering the needs of other functions and ensuring efficient and streamlined processes of a best practice nature are delivered.  This role interfaces with the SAP system integrators who will deliver the actual system
  • Provide expertise, advice and support for the Supply Chain and Logistics business lead and will help to oversee testing, handover and training of the business in use of the new system which is acknowledged as being performed by others
  • Be responsible for supporting the delivering of the end to end global Logistics business processes of Project Edge which will deliver a global SAP solution and approximately 50 additional business applications

Requirements include:

  • Hands on experience of warehousing and/or distribution leadership in a regulated environment (preferably Pharma) with demonstrable conceptual and applied knowledge of SAP as the primary management system
  • Strong team player capable of independent and remote work
  • Passion, enthusiasm to drive through change
  • Proactive attitude and focussed on deliverables
  • Flexible, including willingness to travel routinely
