Building on the success of the one-day debate on Brexit and what it means for Wales, the Morgan Academy are hosting a one day Symposia Event at the School of Management on 29 June 2017, chaired by Adrian Masters, ITV Wales Political Correspondent.

The Morgan Academy, named after the late Rhodri Morgan, former First Minister of Wales and Swansea University Chancellor, is a research-based think tank created to deal with the pressing ‘wicked issues’ of public policy in Wales and the wider World.  Based in Swansea University, it will work across subject disciplines. As well as instigating  critical  thinking, it will work collaboratively to promote innovative evidence-based policy.

The big question we need to answer is:

“Digital futures in health & wellbeing – can public services survive without them”

The event will focus on three themes:-

  • Talent – have we got the right workforce in place and are we investing enough in education
  • Cyber security – how do we want data to be collected
  • Culture Robotics – are we happy with robotics and artificial intelligence being a key feature of service delivery

We believe that there will be a high demand for the Event and are hoping to attract 180 delegates (maximum capacity the venue will accommodate) ranging from CEO’s, MD’s Executive of NHS, Leadership from Local Authorities, leading industrialists,  digital technology organisations , Politicians.

A one-day debate to challenge the state of readiness of key public services and sectors, with a particular focus on talent, cyber security and technology.  To register, please follow the link on attached flyer.  Registration for the event is free but places are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.  http://www.swansea.ac.uk/media-centre/latest-news/digitalfuturesinhealthandwellbeingcanpublicservicessurvivewithoutthem.php

The event will be live streamed if you are unable to attend in person.
